Whole Body Voice© Protégé Highlight:
Quentin Lee Moore, Voice Coach
In 2016, Quentin Lee Moore commenced an Evening Conservatory acting training program at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting Studio and started studying Whole Body Voice© work with Katie. Over the course of the ATC/EC semesters, Quentin possessed a natural gift for teaching, including his curiosity and deep care about the vocal growth in the peers of his ensemble, combined with his prior knowledge and study in physiology, discipline borne of serious athleticism, and his evolving process-orientation for exploring the whole body as a more reflexively available vocal instrument. Observing his apparent skills and unique talents for voice coaching. Katie soon invited Quentin to consider apprenticing as a voice coach.
“Apprenticing” as a protege carried forth the same tradition of interning that Chuck Jones invited Katie to join after she trained with him at SUNY Purchase ‘78 - ‘83. This deep and detailed process included co-teaching and the best mentor/mentee process - including eventual job referrals. Katie’s invitation to Quentin commenced a four-year internship process leading to job referrals (after two years of interning) and teaching collaborations towards what will now be a ten-year working relationship - and lifelong friendship.
Katie highly recommends Quentin as a voice coach. He is currently on the Atlantic faculty roster teaching the NYU Transfer Track and voice coaches privately & on Zoom. He is also an emerging dialect coach (trained with Charley Layton) with Broadway credits. Quentin maintains a practice of personal training while continuing his acting career.
Quentin’s “Breathwork” is a whole-body voice approach to exploring a healthy vocal instrument with resonant range and truthful vocal expression.
